AIM Independent Music Awards 2013: le nomination
Tutti i nomi in lizza per i premi della musica indipendente assegnati dall’associazione inglese per antonomasia, che si terranno il 3 Settembre a Londra.
In Inghilterra sono considerati tra i premi più ambiti nel mondo della musica indipendente, perché si preoccupano di tutelare “i veri eroi della musica, coloro che fanno le cose a modo loro, creano musica fenomenale e ispirano tutti noi con la loro creatività” (così è scritto nella presentazione sul sito ufficiale): gli AIM Independent Music Awards 2013, giunti al terzo anno di premiazioni, tornano il 3 Settembre con la cerimonia che si svolgerà al The Brewery, a Londra, presentata da Steve Lamacq e Huw Stephens.
Le nomination di quest’anno vanno ad evidenziare come la scena indipendente mondiale sia, pure in tempo di crisi discografica, molto ricca: le piccole etichette si ingegnano nelle produzioni, diventando settoriali e curatissime a seconda dei vari generi musicali che decidono di promuovere attraverso la selezione dei migliori artisti del campo. Non è un caso che quest’anno l’AIM, Association Of Independent Music, abbia deciso di consegnare il Pioneer Award alla madre di tutte le etichette indipendenti, la Rough Trade di Geoff Travis. Un altro premio è già stato assegnato e andrà consegnato a Billy Bragg come Outstanding Contribution to Music.
Le nomination che decreteranno i vincitori nelle principali categorie, tra cui spicca la più importante, quella di Independent Label Of The Year, sono ricche di molti artisti di cui vi abbiamo parlato spesso anche noi di Soundsblog: ci sono Macklemore & Ryan Lewis tra i migliori debuttanti dell’anno (e il successo planetario del loro disco The Heist, trascinato da Thrift Shop e Can’t Hold Us, lo potrebbe confermare), ci sono i Vampire Weekend, Johnny Marr ex-Smiths, i National, John Grant… ve li elenchiamo tutti qui sotto: appuntamento al 3 Settembre per conoscere i vincitori!
