Miguel, Candles in the Sun – Video Ufficiale e testo

Miguel -nome completo Miguel Jontel Pimentel- è un cantautore americano e produttore. Ha firmato un contratto con la Jive Records nel 2007 e tre anni dopo è uscito il suo album di debutto, All I Want Is You. Nonostante una mancata promozione e pochissimi live, lentamente il suo nome inizia a girare nell’ambiente. Il rapporto con la casa discografica si scioglie un anno dopo e così viene ingaggiato dalla RCA Records. Il suo nuovo album, Kaleidoscope Dream, è un successo acclamato dalla critica.

E’ stato nominato ai Bet Awards nel 2011 e nel 2012 vince un premio (Best Collaboration). Ma è con “Adorn” che avviene la consacrazione ai Grammy 2013: 3 nomination per la canzone, trionfa come Best R&B Song. L’album ottiene una candidatura come Best Urban Contemporary Album. Il suo terzo singolo estratto estratto è “Candles in the Sun” così raccontato dal cantante:

“Ho voluto creare una canzone e un punto vista che indirizzasse le mie preoccupazioni della vita quotidiana come la conosco nel mondo in cui viviamo”
