E’ Let it go la migliore canzone originale del 2014 secondo la giuria degli Academy Awards 2014. Il brano è la colonna sonora portante del film “Frozen”, amatissimo in patria e in tutto il mondo con incassi stellari al botteghino. La musica e il testo del pezzo sono stati scritti da Kristen Anderson-Lopez e Robert Lopez
L’interprete originale del brano è Idina Menzel e ha eseguito la canzone per la prima volta proprio in occasione della notte degli Oscar. Pochi minuti dopo, ecco premiata con il risultato del vincitore della categoria “Miglior canzone originale”.
Gli autori del brano hanno dichiarato fin da subito di aver scritto appositamente Let it Go con l’idea che a cantarla fosse la Menzel, una delle più gradi e potenti voci di Broadway e vera e propria icona nell’ambiente. Successivamente è stata rilasciata ufficialmente come singolo e affidata a Demi Lovato.
