La regina del soul è sempre lei: a 73 anni Aretha Franklin conquista ancora tutti.
Incredibile. Aretha Franklin ha 73 anni, ha superato malattie e declini di carriera, ma resta comunque la regina indiscussa della musica soul di tutti i tempi.
A rimarcare il concetto, ci pensa un video che in queste ore sta girando dappertutto: la sua esibizione ai Kennedy Center Honors di Washington, tenutisi lo scorso 6 dicembre ma andati in onda ieri sera 29 dicembre 2015, in presenza di Barack Obama e della moglie Michelle, è da pelle d’oca e strappa persino una lacrima al Presidente degli Stati Uniti.
Non è da meno l’entusiasmo di una commossa Carole King, autrice del brano assieme a Gerry Goffin nel lontano 1971 (fu incluso nell’album Tapestry dello stesso anno, firmato dalla cantautrice americana) che, incurante della telecamera, si tiene platealmente il cuore durante l’esibizione strepitosa di Aretha Franklin.
