Ed Sheeran, cover di Master Blaster di Stevie Wonder per Capodanno 2015 (Video e testo)

Ed Sheeran ci tiene a differenziarsi dagli altri osannati nomi del pop inglese dell’ultimo anno e per fortuna la cosa gli riesce sempre bene: in occasione della trasmissione di Jools Holland “Jools Annual Hootenanny” di Capodanno 2015, durante la quale il 31 dicembre 2014 sono apparsi diversi nomi di tutto rispetto come Paloma Faith, Ellie Goulding e Paolo Nutini, il giovane cantautore inglese ha voluto omaggiare uno dei grandi nomi della musica black moderna.

Ed Sheeran ha infatti cantato una cover di Master Blaster (Jammin’) di Stevie Wonder, scritta originariamente come omaggio a Bob Marley da parte del cantautore americano di musica soul e uscita nel 1980 con un irresistibile ritmo di ispirazione reggae. Alla performance di Ed Sheeran si è unito lo stesso presentatore Jools Holland al pianoforte per un inedito duetto, mentre l’orchestra del programma si occupava della parte ritmica.

Il rosso cantautore inglese si è difeso benissimo ed è riuscito a non sfigurare, interpretandola con grazia e rispetto. Doti rare nelle eccessive cover che quotidianamente inondano youtube…
