Gwen Stefani feat. Pharrell Williams, Shine: testo e audio

Gwen Stefani assieme a Pharrell Williams è uno di quei duetti che sulla carta sono destinati a fare scintille pirotecniche in termini di suono e di pura coolness: in effetti Shine, la canzone che sigla la loro collaborazione e che è stata rilasciata in un audio di bassa -e pessima- qualità il giorno prima della fine dell’anno, mantiene sulla carta i presupposti in attesa di una versione migliore per le nostre orecchie.

La canzone Shine di Gwen Stefani feat. Pharrell Williams è stata registrata per la release americana di Paddington, l’adattamento cinematografico del libro sull’orso Paddington di Michael Bond che al cinema vede recitare Ben Whishaw, Nicole Kidman e Julie Walters e che uscirà negli Stati Uniti tra qualche settimana. Nella versione inglese ed europea la canzone non appare nella colonna sonora del film.

L’annuncio di Shine è stato dato lo scorso Novembre dai due colleghi, che hanno diviso anche le poltrone di giudici di The Voice USA durante il congedo maternità di Christina Aguilera:

Che splendida opportunità, parlando da genitore, quella di contribuire a qualcosa di così classico, autentico e generazionale per tutte le nostre vite come Paddington Bear,

aveva dichiarato Pharrell Williams; Gwen Stefani non era stata da meno, dichiarandosi entusiasta:

Sono onorata di unire le mie forze con Pharrell e di essere parte di questo progetto classico che ridona vita a Paddington e alle sue future avventure.

Non è comunque la prima volta che Pharrell Williams e Gwen Stefani collaborino insieme: in passato hanno inciso Can I Have It Like That del produttore e cantante americano e anche le canzoni soliste della voce dei No Doubt come Hollaback Girl e la recentissima Spark The Fire, pubblicata all’inizio di Dicembre 2014 come anteprima del nuovo album solista di Gwen Stefani dopo l’uscita del primo singolo Baby Don’t Lie.
