In America funziona così: se il tuo brano è virale come accadde per Blurred Lines di Robin Thicke, o sei un idolo delle folle che ama prendersi in giro come Bruce Springsteen o Justin Timberlake, lo show televisivo The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon è quello che fa per te per una buona dose di ironia e successo assicurato di ciò che stai presentando in diretta tv. Jimmy Fallon è una garanzia di qualità sarcastica e consenso popolare e i suoi siparietti musicali con i fedelissimi The Roots sono ormai un cult.

Non poteva mancare, in questa occasione, la canzone Let It Go, fresca vincitrice dell’Oscar come miglior brano inedito per un film, che è riuscita a battere nientemeno che Happy di Pharrell (anche se l’esibizione di questa, nel corso della cerimonia, è stata davvero meravigliosa) e The Moon Song di Karen O. Idina Menzel, la cantante che l’ha originariamente incisa, è stata ospite di Jimmy Fallon e si è prodotta nella classica cover assieme ai The Roots e al presentatore stesso, tutti impegnati a suonare strumenti per bambini per accompagnarla.
