Jimmy Ruffin è morto.

La notizia è stata confermata da Philicia Ruffin e Jimmy Lee Ruffin Jr., figli del defunto cantante, che mercoledì ha confermato la morte del loro padre. Non sono stati rivelati dettagli sulla causa della morte. Jimmy era il fratello di David Ruffin, cantante leader dei Temptations.

“Jimmy Ruffin è stato un raro tipo di uomo che ha lasciato la sua impronta nel mondo della musica. La mia famiglia è molto turbata per la sua morte. Ci mancherà moltissimo. Faremo tesoro dei tanti bei ricordi e meravigliosi che tutti noi abbiamo di lui”

Nel corso della sua carriera inanellò una serie di grandi successi, soprattutto negli anni Sessanta. Tra questi, il brano che ottenne maggior riscontro fu il brano “What Becomes of the Brokenhearted”. A seguire, tra gli altri pezzi, anche “I’ve Passed This Way Before”, “Gonna Give Her All the Love I’ve Got,” e “Hold on to My Love.” ebbero un buon risultato di vendite.
