Morrissey: “Solo quattro canzoni dei Beatles erano magnifiche”

Morrissey ha assicurato che i Beatles non hanno mai avuto alcuna influenza sulla sua carriera. Lo ha detto in una recente intervista su Billboard e ha ribadito che solo quattro canzoni dei Beatles sono ritenute magnifiche. Le altre no.

“Ho pensato che quattro dei loro brani fossero magnifici e se una band è in grado di dare vita a quattro magnifiche canzoni, allora questo non è sufficientemente buono per me”

E ha aggiunto, a scanso di ogni equivoco:

“Sono stato mai influenzato dai Beatles? No”

E’ stato anche affrontato l’argomento di una possibile ed eventuale reunion degli Smiths. Ma non avverrà mai, come sottolineato dallo stesso Morrissey:

“Io non conosco una singola persona che vuole una reunion degli Smith. No, non ci sono gruppi che mi piacerebbe vedere di nuovo perché il loro ricordo è come erano nella loro prima fase o al meglio, e si guarda a loro per essere qualcosa che non sono più “
