Pearl Jam e Win Butler degli Arcade Fire, duetto su Rockin’ In A Free World in Australia: video e testo

Ultimamente a duetti siamo messi bene: numerosissime le partecipazioni speciali in occasioni più o meno particolari -beh i Grammy si sa, son fatti apposta per le collaborazioni inattese-, anche se quello che è accaduto a Perth, in Australia, al Big Day Out Festival, è stato davvero una sorpresa unica nel suo genere.

Protagonisti di un inedito duetto sono stati i Pearl Jam, headliner del festival, che hanno chiamato sul palco Win Butler degli Arcade Fire, anche loro presenti alla manifestazione, per suonare dal vivo insieme di fronte al numeroso pubblico: e la scelta è caduta su un brano che da tempo è divenuto un classico della band di Seattle, Rockin’ In A Free World di Neil Young, anch’egli canadese come gli Arcade Fire.

Il risultato, registrato come avviene sempre ultimamente da un fan, ha un che di particolare e divertito, sbavature e stonature comprese: ad un certo punto del video è commovente vedere i membri della band e lo special guest che dal palco lanciano verso il pubblico alcuni tamburelli per farli partecipare ancor di più alla musica.
